This is the Ford FF1, a 1.0-litre Formula Ford-based road car. That’s right, it’s road legal.
Powered by a 200PS version of our multi-award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, the FF1 weighs just 495kg, and can accelerate from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds!
Earlier this year, the FF1 set a lap time of 7min 22 sec at the Nürburgring Nordschleife – the 11th fastest-ever time set around the circuit. It even beat the Ferrari Enzo. Its next public appearance in anger – and first in the UK – was at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was driven up the hill by very same driver who set the remarkable time in Germany, Nick Tandy.
In between runs, the FF1 could be found in Goodwood’s FoS-Tech dome, where Lord March himself popped by to have a look. Some of Ford’s finest engineers, based at the Dunton Technical Centre in Essex, were also on hand to answer questions. Did you know it’ll do more than 100mpg (driven carefully, of course)?
