Making getting to work a game

November 16, 2015

Developers from around the world have risen to the challenge of coming up with games that could inspire real-life solutions to help people get around our congested cities.

With ideas that range from taking selfies to finding friends to travel with, six finalists have now been selected for our Ford Smart Mobility Game Challenge which is being run in cooperation with Cologne Game Lab, in Germany.

The finalists will be given the opportunity to develop their concepts and compete for €17,500 prize money, with the winner announced at Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, Spain, next year.

“We’re hugely excited by all the new ideas. Our research tells us that freedom of movement is under threat, and gaming can help our cities moving” said Will Farrelly, Ford Smart Mobility, Ford of Europe.

The short-list was revealed following a marathon 30-hour Smart Mobility Hackathon at the Clash of Realities digital games conference in Cologne.
