A Ford GT steeped in history

June 28, 2016

Little more than a week after our incredible victory at Le Mans, we are announcing a limited edition version of our new Ford GT supercar which references the original 1966 win.

Called the Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition, the exclusive model echoes the styling of the Ford GT40 car driven to victory 50 years ago with a gloss or matte black exterior featuring silver stripes and exposed carbon fibre, and #2 race graphics for the bonnet and doors.

The 20-inch aluminum wheels get a retro look with a gold satin finish and black wheel nuts. And for the interior there’s a unique combination of Ebony leather and gold details. You can view the limited edition model at FordGT.com using the configuration tool. Limited quantities will be available for the 2017 model year only.
“Celebrating the anniversary of Ford’s historic victories at Le Mans has always been a part of the return of the Ford GT,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, product development, and chief technical officer. “The 2017 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition is a stunning tribute to the car that kicked off Ford’s string of Le Mans victories in 1966.”
