A year before man landed on the moon we launched the first car to wear the RS badge.
“Rallye Sport” models have since established themselves as among the most iconic of performance cars.
And 47 years on, we have now revealed the 30th RS – the new Ford Focus RS.
This is a car designed to appeal to drivers who are as likely to put it through its paces at their local circuit, as they are to use it for the commute, or trips to the shops.
And technologies to help ensure a satisfying track day include a new all-wheel-drive system, and a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine delivering in excess of 320bhp.
“The all-new Focus RS is a serious machine with high-performance technology and innovative engineering that sets a new benchmark for driving exhilaration on the road and track,” said Raj Nair, Ford’s group vice president, Global Product Development.
2015 is a mammoth year for Ford fans – especially those with a passion for performance.
The first Mustang to go on sale across Europe in more than 50 years of production is available to order now.
